In this article, I highlight three trendsetters in my life. They all have distinct styles that correlate with their stories.
The mission of Aurora is to create minimalistic, fashionable street style designs ethically and sustainably in a wide assortment of sizes to promote body positivity, sustainable fashion, and style. Aurora is all about making conscious changes to becoming perfectly imperfect whether that is in becoming zero waste, sustainable, or in all aspects of life.
This semester for my final project in my visual merchandising class we were to design a new store location for a brand of our choice. I decided to create a New York location for the brand Cult Gaia. I created a store design, window display, and merchandise displays.
For upcoming seasons, a trend that will be seen everywhere is “Waste is the New Black.” This trend is all about sustainability and byproducts living a new life. It’s about being undone, not worrying about perfection and all about searching for connection.
In my global sourcing class we were given the company, Rag & Bone and the country of Pakistan. We then had to decide if Pakistan was a good choice of a country for Rag & Bone to source their men’s poly-blend tees and tanks at. Check it out to find out what we decided.
In my class focussed on stitches and seams, we were given the task to take an outdated skirt design and to refresh it. My group went for a mustard yellow, 70’s inspired look for our selected target customer.
In my retail merchandising class we had to choose a brand that we wanted to create a new line for and come up with different business strategies for the brand. My group and I decided to do our project on Calvin Klein. Here is our finished project!
